The neighborhood also provides a glimpse into Boston’s long past. Aside from the concentration of character homes from the turn of the century, the Brighton neighborhood is also centered around Brighton Center, a historic central business district with several examples of colonial and turn-of-the-century architecture.
For an escape to nature, Brighton offers some excellent choices. Rogers Park is a popular meeting place that is dog-friendly. Gallagher Park and the Chestnut Hill Reservoir are also popular choices, featuring serene lakefront views.
